Third Step . First Assignment

Hello guys, I'm back~!
Let's move to third step of the assignment which is layering.
Hmm... actually I'm quite confuse about the layering, and frgt some steps.
I will try my best to do it, hope I'm doing correctly :)

Oh yea, before that, I need to correct the title of my e-wallpaper.
As what I mentioned in my previous post, I said that the title of e-wallpaper is MMU OPEN DAY, right? Actually, it's should be FOM OPEN DAY.

Back to the main topic. First, open a new blank A4 size page.
And also the 5pictures that I had combined last week. :)

Second, drag one of the picture to the new blank page just like this.
You can make the picture transparent by using the "Opacity". Just like the picture below.
Change the value of "Opacity". You can also change the value of "Fill".

Third, drag the MMU Logo and also the MMU EBee. Place it at the place that you want.
I want to make shadow behind the MMU Logo, so I click Layer ---> Duplicate Layer.
After clicking Duplicate Layer, this box will be out. Press Ok.
You will see the copy of the MMU Logo.
Because I want it to be the shadow so I change the value of the "Opacity", so that it will be transparent.
Drag and place the shadow at the right place.

Fourth, place the Logo of FOM, press the "Ctrl" button (don't let go) and use your mouse to click at the edge of the picture to control / change the size and shape as well.
You might face the problem like the picture is in front of the main picture and it blocked the main picture. (As shown below) How to bring the FOM logo back to the FOM building so that it will not blocked the building?
Go to the Layer Panel, click on the FOM Logo Layer, DRAG it down below the FOM Building Layer. See, the picture is now behind the FOM Building.

Next, drag another picture again.
I had added shadow for the two students. On the Layer panel, search for the layer for the students picture, double click it. A box named "Layer Style" will appear. Click on the "drop shadow" and adjust the shadow.
Click "Stroke" to edit the color of the shadow and the gradient style.

Fifth step, click on the "Horizontal Type Tool" which is just on your left hand side. And type "FOM OPEN DAY" There's an option up there. You can choose the font size, font type.
You can also change the font color, just click "Set Background Color" and choose the color that you like.
OR, you can double click your font layer on the Layer Panel there. And now go to "Stroke". Double click on the gradient and "Gradient Editor" will appear. You can choose any type of the gradient you like. After you have done editing gradient, press ok. You can change the color style by adjusting the style, angel and also the scale.

Sixth, add the background.

Seventh, click the FOM Building on the Layer Panel. Use the "Erase Tool" (E) to delete the edge of the picture.

Eighth, I'm using the "Horizontal Type Tool" (T) to type out the info about FOM OPEN DAY and also the slogan. You can change the style of your words. Click "Create Warped Text" on the option up there and choose the style you like. After chosen the style, I changed the color of the slogan by using the "Gradient Editor".

And Yesh, I'm done my E-wallpaper and that's all for the layering part ! :B

TADAAAaaaa~~~!!! This is my E-wallpaper !

Do comment on my work and correct me if I did wrongly.
So guys, try yourself, it's fun ~!
Will be back soon, see ya ! ^ ^

  1. Lol, Lenglui Hwei Qi, for the MMU logo's shadow, u can actually use the drop shadow function, but adjust value of the distance, then u will get the same result with layering effect. =D I see that u already know how to use many skills like transparency, gradient, stroke and etc, ur next work will be great =D
